I love Ordination Sundays.
Our children walked up for the children’s moment during worship, and a few of them accidentally knocked a cushion or two sideways. Each time, they’d stop and gingerly put the cushion back in its place.
I love ordination and installation Sundays. This morning was no exception. Our children walked up for the children’s moment during worship, and a few of them accidentally knocked a cushion or two sideways. Each time, they’d stop and gingerly put the cushion back in its place. It was precious to watch. And I always feel so moved, watching new church elders and deacons kneel on the prayer rug for the laying on of hands. It's a honor to witness the installation of people God has chosen to lead and care for God’s people. It’s a beautiful thing to behold. It makes me remember my own ordination as a deacon many years ago and look forward to my ordination as a Minister of Word and Sacrament in the (hopefully) nearish future!
