Come, Little Children
There is something about Maundy Thursday that is so special to me. I don't know if I can put my finger on exactly what that is, but attending Maundy Thursday makes Easter even more meaningful for me. I feel that "something" so deeply each year. And tonight, I know exactly what it is that moved me. This year, I was moved by the voices of small children saying the Lord's Prayer with all who gathered as we prepared for the Lord's Supper. And I was moved seeing one of our elders bend low to offer the cup to those children so they could easily dip their bread in it. In the scripture we read in worship tonight, Jesus calls us "little children." It was a beautiful reminder that Jesus comes to make a way for all the little ones. My heart is filled to overflowing witnessing God's extravagant love at work in worship this evening.
